GET IN COMMUNITY
A PLACE TO BELONG
The Church is more like a Family, in fact the Bible says Jesus made it possible for us to become the children of God, which makes Him our Father and us brothers and sisters! We all have a deep need to belong and be part of something bigger than ourselves, at Sojourn we hope you find your home.
COMMUNITY GROUPS
Family is lived out in our Community Groups where you will find a place to belong. Just like any family your Community Group will seek to do life together throughout the week; eating, celebrating, recreating, studying, praying, caring, serving, and reaching out to others who need to know Jesus.
Each Group consists of 12-18 adults and kids depending on who’s in the group but we really enjoy and celebrate a wide demographic of ages and backgrounds in our groups so we can all learn and grow from each person’s experience and story. Each group meets weekly for dinner and prayer, and sometimes plans other excursions, adventures, or ways to serve others.
If you want to join a Community Group we suggest visiting one to get a feel for things and to complete the Community Group Primer.
COMMUNITY GROUP PRIMER
Community Groups aren’t just random gatherings of people, they exist to equip each person to follow and lead others to follow Jesus in every area of life. Our Community Groups are designed to help us live out our identity as a follower of Jesus; FAMILY, SERVANT, MISSIONARY.
The Community Group Primer is a four part workshop where you will learn what your new identity in Jesus is all about and how a Community Group can help you live that out in your everyday life. You will have a chance to meet other people who are just getting started as well. At the end of the Primer you and your new group will be ready to launch out on your own to live out your new identity in Jesus together. Or you may decide to join an existing group.
DNA GROUPS
DNA stands for Discipleship, Nurture, and Accountability. Being a follower of Jesus is not easy, in fact it can be one of the hardest things you will ever do, but that’s why Jesus gave us one another. There is a proverb that says a chord of three strands is not easily broken, and that it is better to have friends around to help you up when you fall down, and thats the way God has designed it. DNA’s are smaller more intimate groups of men or women who meet regularly to study the Bible and work toward encouraging each other to live it out. Discipleship is an ongoing process of bringing all of life under the lordship of Jesus, making Him King of every part of your life.
